The Citizen’s Committee to Save the Weber Tract welcomes you to our website!

Our goal is to help preserve the Weber Tract, an environmentally sensitive  169.6 acre tract of land located in the northern portion of Kinnelon Borough in Morris County, N.J.  It is bounded by Silas Condict County Park, Kinnelon Road, Route 23 South and the Pequannock River.

The land has long been advocated for open space preservation by many Kinnelon residents and conservation groups. Valuable wetlands and a water recharge area on the land are essential for the filtration process that recharges our wells and aquifers.  We are all reliant upon our underground water supply.  Clean water and clean air are further reasons to save this unspoiled land.

The mostly forested tract also contains steep slopes and vernal pools which provide a habitat to an abundance of wildlife.  Bear, deer, turkeys, coyotes and fox are just a few of the species that are frequently seen year round.

The beautiful scenic vistas and hiking trails and paths would be a great way for our residents to experience the solitude and wonders of nature.

The Weber Tract on Kinnelon Road provides a “mini greenway” for Kinnelon Borough.  The tract also contains a large portion of the Pequannock River Greenway.

Together, we can save this pristine land which is contiguous to Silas Condict County Park.
